Hall Conditioning at Profiform AG in Hochdorf
A production facility in the metal industry experienced thermal overload and poor air quality. Existing ventilation systems were unable to meet the requirements. INFRANORM® implemented an integrated solution for cooling, heating, and fresh air supply. The result is stable production conditions and significantly reduced energy consumption.

Project details
The existing production hall was equipped with compact ventilation units that did not provide sufficient capacity, particularly in the summer. This resulted in overheating of the hall, impaired working conditions, and reduced process reliability. In addition, air quality deteriorated due to insufficient air exchange. Internal heat loads of up to 125 kW, as well as solar heat gain, further increased the thermal load.
The project had to be implemented while production continued. At the same time, there were strict noise requirements due to an adjacent residential area, as well as national regulations, such as stricter insulation requirements. Existing heating and infrastructure systems had to be integrated and continued to be used.
INFRANORM® implemented a holistic hall climate control system with two-stage adiabatic cooling for energy-efficient temperature reduction without a conventional chiller. A fresh air supply of up to 42,000 m³/h ensures high air exchange rates. By mixing in recirculated air, stable year-round operation is achieved. Existing heating systems were integrated, while targeted exhaust air management and a sound-optimized design meet the site’s requirements. Air is distributed draft-free throughout the work area.
The result: consistent and stable production conditions combined with significantly improved air quality. Overheating and thermal load peaks have been reduced. At the same time, energy costs were cut by up to 80 % and CO₂ emissions were reduced by up to 91 %.
“What was crucial for us was a solution that would sustainably improve both temperature stability and air quality—while taking our site requirements into account. The INFRANORM® concept completely won us over.”
