Comfortable and hygienic cooling zones for food production at Leeb Biomilch
Leeb Biomilch produces high-quality sheep, goat and vegan dairy products in Wartberg an der Krems. The processing, pasteurization process and daily high-pressure cleaning generate strong heat loads and high humidity. This led to an uneasy working environment at permanent workplaces. INFRANORM® installed a sustainable cooling system for Leeb Biomilch, which was developed specifically for the requirements of the food industry and ensures pleasant working conditions all year round.

Project details
For Leeb Biomilch, a zone-based Sustainable Hall Conditioning System was developed that exclusively uses water as refrigerant and brings up to 100 percent hygienically cooled fresh air to workplaces. The two-stage adiabatic cooling is particularly energy efficient and maintains pleasant supply air temperatures even on hot days.
Textile air tubes with integrated silver ions and individual laser perforation ensure draft-free air distribution in the defined cooling zones. The system uses process waste heat in winter to control supply air temperature and thus completely prevents ventilation heat losses. Controlled hall overpressure prevents particles or insects from entering — a significant advantage for hygiene-critical areas of the food industry.
The result: A noticeably cooler, cleaner and more hygienic work area with significantly improved employee satisfaction.
“The system significantly supports us in achieving our NETZERO target for 2050. Working conditions have improved enormously and expandability is a major advantage. ”
