Efficient and low-maintenance dust removal for the metal recycling process at Schaufler
Schaufler GmbH is one of Austria's leading companies in the recycling and trade of metal and steel scrap. With the construction of a new composite treatment plant at the Ybbs on the Danube site in 2020, there was a need for efficient air pollution control. The aim was to implement a filter system that collects large amounts of dust directly at the shredders and transfer points, relieves the pressure on the hall air and at the same time meets high requirements for fire protection, process safety and continuous operation.

Details zum Projekt
The resulting dust is collected directly at the shredders and at various transfer points. Specially manufactured extraction rings and collection hoods were used for this purpose, controlled by building management systems. The captured air is guided via a smooth pipe system into a cartridge filter with automatic cleaning. Thanks to discharge screws and rotary valves, containers can be replaced during operation.
In order to balance the air exchange in the building, purified recirculated air is brought into the halls without drafts via textile air distribution systems. The entire system was equipped with a fully automated fire suppression system equipped, which triggers without external energy and is fully integrated into building technology.
The result: Clean indoor air, high level of machine protection, reduced contamination, reliable aspiration and trouble-free operation.
“A new filter system was installed in an existing treatment plant to reliably extract local dust. The planning was very challenging due to the tight space available and the need for aspiration points. INFRANORM® has translated the requirements into a good overall concept. In summary, I recommend working with INFRANORM® Technologie GmbH and, in particular, good project execution. ”
