Efficient containment and dust removal for casting processes at Busch-Hungária
Busch-Hungária, the largest iron foundry in Hungary, is continuously investing in modern production infrastructure to permanently improve safety, efficiency and working conditions. The existing dust removal system on the casting line was getting on in years and a complete new construction would have made technical sense, but would not be economically viable. The aim of the project was to implement a powerful, energy-efficient and space-saving solution that significantly reduces emissions and secures operations in the long term.

Project details
INFRANORM® modernized the existing dedusting the casting line with a retrofit that allows the existing filter system to be reused. The core of the solution is a 45-meter long enclosure with a volume of 1,400 cubic meters, which achieves an air exchange rate of more than 50 per hour. The extraction is controlled along the casting zone so that maximum output is only provided where the casting actually takes place. In addition, a test facility was built to test the effectiveness of the housing in advance and optimally design it.
The result: Significantly less dust and smoke in the hall area, higher process reliability and energy-efficient operation.
“You can see every day how much the situation in the hall has improved. There is much less dust and smoke in the air. Our employees are satisfied and very grateful. ”
